Our Process

Attention To Detail

Excellent Service - Excellent Process - Excellent Product

From the first phone call, first meeting to the final product, there will be a designer or project manager working closely with you each step of the way to ensure that you will love the outcome.

Initial Contact

When you first contact us, we will collect some basic information from you including contact information, what kind of work you are interested in, and how you heard about us. In addition to calling, you may submit an information request by sending an e-mail to sales@lucklandscaping.com or clicking the Contact us tab. You will be contacted within 24 hours.

Consultation

Next, we will schedule an initial consultation with you. During this consultation, we will:

Listen to your objectives in order to understand your landscape dreams. Learn more about you and your project.

Walk the property with you, taking notes and listening. We pay attention to your needs and use our creativity and experience to assist you. Ask questions to help bring your ideas into better focus. We think out loud. We dream, imagine and offer you different ideas and options.

Ultimately we will then discuss your anticipated budget for the project, or help you determine a budget.

Decide the next appropriate step. Discuss whether our design services are appropriate or proceed directly to a proposal for installation of work discussed.

Design

If after discussing your specific needs it was decided to proceed with a design plan, our highly talented and creative landscape designer will prepare a proposal for design services and submit it to you for approval. You must then return the signed proposal to our office with a retainer fee to begin the design process.

Installation

Once you have approved either our design for your project or an existing design you already had, a proposal will be prepared for the installation of your new landscape. When we receive the signed contract and deposit, we will schedule the job and order materials. Work typically begins within two to six weeks of contract acceptance, depending on weather and the time of year.

Depending on the scope of the project, our crew may be at your property anywhere from one day to one month or more. We will ask you if we may place a job sign with our name and logo on your property at the street. Not only does this show our pride in our work, but also assists landscape deliveries for the site. Construction elements such as rough grading, drainage, walls, walkways, water features, and large caliber trees are completed first.

These operations require large machines and will cause disturbance to the ground, which is normal. All disturbances will be repaired before the job is done. Bed preparation, soil conditioning, and installation of smaller plants are completed next. This work is done primarily with small-engine machines or manual labor. Installation of lighting fixtures, mulching, and lawn establishment starts to put the landscape picture back together.

All plants are thoroughly watered, large trees are staked, and ribbons and tags are removed from the plants. All debris is picked up and disposed of properly. Driveways and walkways are swept clean. There will be progress meetings scheduled with the designer and the landscape foreman during the course of the job to assess progress and answer questions. Many times during the course of the construction clients ask to add to or modify the plan. The designer will promptly assess the change and, if needed, put together a change order showing any changes in pricing.

Follow Up

Our landscape designer and landscape foreman will meet with you on site to walk through the completed landscape. Any items that require attention will be noted and will be promptly resolved. You will be given written landscape maintenance care instructions to help you through the establishment period of your new landscape. You may contact your landscape designer at any time with detailed questions should the need arise.

Your Guarantee

Luck Landscaping, warrants plants to be true to name and in healthy growing condition when installed. It is then the responsibility of the owner to supply them with sufficient water and fertilizer to keep them healthy. Newly planted trees and shrubs must be watered year round, including the dormant season. Newly installed landscape plants will suffer transplant shock, particularly during the hot summer months. It is imperative that plants receive proper care, so as to minimize stress. Trees and shrubs are warranted for one year from date of installation, and will be replaced once within the warranty period, should they die. Annuals, perennials, bulbs, and ground cover are NOT warranted. Luck Landscaping, will make warranty replacements during the optimum planting seasons: spring and fall. Typically, replacements will take place between May 1st through June 30th and September 1st through November 15th.

These time frames are subject to change only at the discretion of Luck Landscaping. Luck Landscaping, assumes no liability for replacement of plants killed or damaged by improper care, pests, insect infestation, abnormal weather conditions, or other conditions beyond our control, nor will we replace plants experiencing “seasonal die-back”, when pruning and proper care will restore them to health. Moving landscape plants from their original location will void the warranty. All orders for landscape plants are accepted under the foregoing conditions, and no other warranty, whether expressed or implied, will apply.

Please feel free to contact Luck Landscaping, with any questions regarding plant care.

  • Why should I spend money on my yard?

Add that to the joy of having your very own outdoor living space, and you’ll see why investing in a landscape is a an investment that will start paying you back immediately.

  • How long does the consultation take?

This depends on the scope of the project, but it typically takes under an hour unless you have a large project in mind.

  • Is there a fee for design services?

Yes, our dedicated designers pride themselves on creating the perfect plan specific to your needs and wants. They take careful consideration of the usage of space, flow of the layout, elements you would like, sun exposure, and the usage you desire. We provide you with your own beautiful and thorough design that is yours to keep.

  • How long after the consultation will I receive the project quote?

This depends on the project scope and size as well as the time of year. During our busy seasons, it will take a little longer to complete quotes. However, the designer that you meet with will give you an estimated return time.
